Hanna Chekodanova’s Exhibition at the Ukrainian Cultural Club of Dallas

On April 3, 2025, a landmark event took place in Dallas — the official visit of a delegation from Kharkiv, Ukraine, led by Mayor Ihor Terekhov. The event was organized by the Ukrainian Cultural Club of Dallas and River of Life – Dallas Church, with the support of the Office of the Mayor of Dallas. It marked an important milestone in the developing partnership between Dallas and Kharkiv, which officially became sister cities in February 2024.

As part of the program, artist Hanna Chekodanova presented an exhibition of her works in the style of Petrykivka painting — a unique form of Ukrainian decorative art recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Her traditional works attracted great attention from event attendees and served as a vivid example of Ukrainian cultural identity.

Hanna Chekodanova is one of the few artists in the United States who possesses authentic knowledge of Petrykivka painting. Her participation in such events contributes to the promotion of Ukrainian art abroad and the strengthening of cultural ties between Ukraine and the U.S.
Her exhibition was a vital part of the event, highlighting the role of art in fostering international relations.
