On March 23, 2025, a Petrykivka painting workshop was held in Dallas, Texas, led by artist Hanna Chekodanova. The event brought together participants of various ages and backgrounds who had the opportunity to explore this unique Ukrainian art form, which is officially recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
During the workshop, Hanna shared the history and symbolism of Petrykivka painting and demonstrated key techniques used in this traditional style. Participants were then invited to create their own works using authentic patterns and vibrant colors.
The event served not only as a creative experience but also as a cultural bridge between Ukraine and the United States, helping to spread awareness of Ukrainian heritage internationally. As one of the few practicing Petrykivka artists in the U.S., Hanna plays an active role in preserving and promoting this art form within the global community. The organizers expressed their gratitude to all attendees and sponsors, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in strengthening cultural ties and supporting the legacy of Ukrainian art abroad.
